Cartoon Network on “I Am Legion”:  “Lex Luthor escapes from a maximum security prison, only to be invited to join Grodd’s unstoppable Legion of Doom (courtesy of The World’s Finest).”

Dwayne McDuffie on Dr. Polaris’ manipulation of Shayera’s mace:  “Nth metal in the cartoon is already established as ‘transuranic iron,’ complete with an impossible atomic number and a clearly-defined set of properties, including being ferrous.  Thanagarians know more about metal and materials than you do.  As we saw, odds are one hundred percent that Dr. Polaris would be able to affect her mace (courtesy of DwayneMcDuffie.com).”

Bruce Timm on the Spear of Destiny:  “That was a total McGuffin.  It’s was just a little test of Luthor by Grodd (courtesy of Newsarama).”

Commentary

They came to the other side of the sea, to the country of the Gerasenes.  And when he had stepped out of the boat, immediately a man out of the tombs with an unclean spirit met him.  He lived among the tombs; and no one could restrain him any more, even with a chain; for he had often been restrained with shackles and chain, but the chains he wrenched apart, and the shackles he broke in pieces; and no one had the strength to subdue him.  [...] Then Jesus asked him, "What is your name?"  He replied, "My name is Legion; for we are many."

Mark 5:1-5, 5:9, from The New Oxford Annotated Bible
